Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
Current UK fire alarm regulations state that all business premises must have an ‘appropriate fire detection system’. It is a legal requirement of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, that the fire alarm system at your business premises or site is fit for purpose and in working order. Our fire alarm systems are fitted in line with British Standards BS5839: Pt1 – the British Standard for fire alarm installation and expertly designed utilizing the highest quality equipment to minimize false alarms. There are three types of systems available, these are: Non-Addressable; ideal for smaller systems using under 50 devices, Addressable; used in larger buildings and capable of complex programming and Wireless; mainly used in buildings where wiring is permitted or aesthetically displeasing. Our design team will work with you to ensure your fire alarm system meets the specific needs of your building and Fire Risk Assessment.
Non-Addressable: Also known as conventional fire alarm system. Each device is connected to the main panel by its own wire, when triggered the panel operates the sounders. This system only identifies which zone is ‘in fire’ and not the exact location of the specific device.
Addressable: Each device is connected to the main panel via a single loop and has its own address, so if the alarm activates you are able to see the exact location of the device that’s been triggered. This system can be programmed to meet the buildings evacuation procedures/policies.
Wireless: Wireless detectors can be added to an existing system enabling access to areas where cabling is impossible. A wireless survey would need to be completed beforehand to ensure signal continuity throughout.
All our fire alarm installs are in accordance to the current British Standard BS 5839.
