DISABLED REFUGE
Fire regulations state that Commercial buildings above one storey are required to provide a disabled refuge and evacuation route for the disabled, wheelchair users or any other member of public who may struggle to use a fire escape during an emergency. A disabled refuge must have a fireproof two-way communication system in line with BS5839 so that fire officers/wardens can keep in contact with any person using the refuge. Outstations come in a choice of standard or enhanced and are wired in a loop configuration using fire rated enhanced cable. The disabled refuge remotes will stay in standby unless the master panel is triggered in an emergency however we can set the remotes to be permanently active if required. We can also incorporate accessible toilets with pull cords, overdoor lights and reset switches as part of a package. Our team can help to design and install the following:
