After securing Chapel Walks, Manchester, a residential project for Cogent Projects in May, we were approached again to tender for The Downs, Altrincham. This development consists of 32 Apartments and 8 townhouses so is a significantly larger project. As the developer gave our advanced technology design approval for Chapel walks, Cogent were keen for us to supply the same impressive technology to this project. We are contracted to Design, Supply, Install and Commission the disciplines listed above and are due to start on site around Aug/Sept.

Another project secured within the residential sector and our first of many for Cogent Projects. After a competitive tender process during March detailing advanced technology design and our invaluable install experience in high end apartment blocks, we received the order for Chapel Walks at the beginning of May, with works commencing on site immediately after. Starting a project in the midst of a global pandemic has been a different experience for Firecorp, however after issuing thorough revised RAMS to ensure we meet all current government guidelines and keep our employees, client and the general public safe at all times, we are positive the project will be handed over within the expected time frame and to our usual exceptionally high standard of work.

“This 21 storey building has been designed by award-winning architects Metropolitan Workshop and will offer 157 one bedroom Pocket homes in the heart of East Croydon, minutes away from the station. All homes will benefit from access to a 9th floor landscaped communal roof terrace, 20th floor Nordic Garden and 21st floor Hidden Garden – all with fantastic views over south London – as well as a residents’ lounge, a co-working space and a wellness room, all equipped with Hyperoptic Wi-Fi. The three landscaped roof gardens, each one situated on a different floor, offer unique views over Croydon and are the perfect for socialising and meeting neighbours. Firecorp received the order for Addiscombe Grove in November 2019, due to complete in the summer of 2020. This is a large project consisting of 157 one bedroom homes over 21 floors and our first for JR Pickstock. After initially being impressed with our tender process and the technology proposed within our design, we are keen to show that this high level of competence flows throughout the whole project and that the client will be as impressed with out install and handover. “Emily Davies is on the doorstep of Southampton Solent University. In 2020, it will be fully refurbished and opening brand-new common spaces to include a fully equipped gym, a cinema, private dining room, games room and plenty of areas to relax, or study.”

Firecorp are currently contracted to Supply, Install and Commission the Fire Alarm and CCTV Systems at Emily Davies Student Accommodation in Southampton for Midatt Electrical Services Ltd. Commencing on site in October 2019, we began to refurb the Fire and CCTV System adding additional points and providing a brand new system to the pavilion. We expect to hand over this job in June 2020.

“An iconic development situated in the heart of Chester, The Shot Tower is a prime flagship residential development from Whitecroft Group. The restoration and redevelopment of this historic building is expected to form a key landmark for the entire city. The tower, one of the oldest of just three remaining shot towers in the UK, stands at an imposing height of 40m and is the tallest structure in Chester. This is undeniably one of Whitecroft’s most exciting projects to date.”

This impressive development consists of 54 one and two-bedroom apartments, 15 two and three-bedroom duplex apartments and 3 four-bed townhouses. A quick moving project for Firecorp after only receiving the enquiry at the end of June, we submitted our quotation swiftly and received the order and commenced on site within 1 week. We currently have 2 teams of engineers first fixing and are on track to complete in line with the schedule of works by November. It seems Firecorp have found our niche within the industry of Luxury/High End Apartment developments.
